I working on a site emergency response plan and am thankful there are so many responding sites in our area http://www.charlescounty.org/es/ thank you for your services drive carefully.
I just wanted to send a quick message to let you know that on December 30, I'm having a blood drive as a special thank you to all those who were a part of my journey back to life and to honor the type of work that you do.
I was in a near-fatal car accident in 2004 at the intersection of Ripley and Poorhouse. Over a dozen emergency responder units in and around Charles County are individually acknowledged in my book for saving my life. I required 36 blood transfusions and 13 plasma treatments during many operations throughout a two month coma. I had to be brought back to life around eight times during my recovery at Prince George's Hospital. When I emerged from the coma, doctors predicted I may never walk again. Thanks to you I can happily say that today, only five and ½ years after the accident, I'm a senior in college, a competitive marathoner and Ironman triathlete. I published a book, Iron Heart, this fall that details my journey back to life. I owe my recovery to you and this blood drive is a way of showing my gratitude.
It's a hometown special thank you to all of the amazing emergency responders like you who were there for me in a situation where time was of the essence. As a person who has been personally impacted by the type of work that you do, Thank You for not only saving me, but for saving my family. I know I'm only one person, but our gratitude to you is eternal. You are a miracle worker and a hero to us.
At the blood drive, all donors will get a limited Red Cross edition of my book, Iron Heart. Along with my family and friends, I'll be there all day to meet and personally thank everyone that has helped me along the long road to recovery.
Thank you so much for your time and I would be so grateful if you could attend because I'd like to shake your hand and personally say thank you for all that you do for our community. By the time that you give each week doing the wonderful things that you do, you have given somebody like me a lifetime.

My name is Kristina Reyes and I'm the Public Awareness Director for the PleuralMesothelioma.com . While I was browsing through a number of firefighter health and safety sites I came across your web site and was very impressed by the information you have listed.
Currently we are campaigning to educate the general public on how to avoid asbestos exposure within their homes. We understand that local fire departments are tasked with keeping the community safe. Thus, as a public service, we are teaming up with fire departments across the country to help educate the nation about the dangers of asbestos and how to avoid it. This can include how to spot asbestos (pictures), common locations, how to test the air, and even asbestos information specific to your community.
I noticed that you already had some firefighter safety resources listed on your resources page at ironsidesrescue.com/content/links/ and figured you might be interested in including a link to our site as well. Below is our link code. Please let me know if you are interested - I'm available by e-mail at Kristina(@)pleuralmesothelioma. With your help, we can educate the public about the dangers of asbestos and hopefully save some lives. Thanks again!
